Diego Maradona is considered by God as a true Argentine football in a country where the sport is a religion. For indication, the city of Buenos Aires has nearly 20 first division clubs and as many stages. Diego Maradona joined his first team at age 9 and quickly confirmed his gifts by joining when he was not even 16 years, the national team 'Argentinos Junior. His meteoric rise and then the clubs and the successive victories: Boca Juniors with a national victory in 1981, Spain and Barcelona where his team won several titles in 1983. This is followed by Italy and SSC Napoli with whom he played from 1984 to 1991, winning many championships including the UEFA Cup in 1989. The real dedication takes place with the Argentine team in 1986 with a win against Germany in the World Cup in Mexico. The rest of his career is less glorious at the turn of the 90s. Several times charged with drug trafficking and consumption of cocaine, he tried in vain to return to its highest level. It is reinstated in the Argentine team for the World Cup 1994 but was soon expelled for doping. Despite its setbacks, Diego Maradona has always remained in the heart of Argentina. He was voted athlete of the century in 1999 in Argentina with 333 goals to his credit and 88 caps for Argentina national team.
